Louise Paden, daughter of Taylor A. and Daisy (Walters) Paden, was born on May 16, 1931 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Friday, February 5, 2016 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years.
She attended Zion School and Stilwell High School. After graduation in May 1949, Louise worked as a Night Operator for the Holt Telephone Company until 1953, at which time, she enrolled in college at Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She graduated with a degree in Teaching and continued her school work, ultimately obtaining her Master's Degree. She moved to Wichita, Kansas where she taught for 34 years in Elementary Education. In 1998, she retired and moved to Muskogee, where she was an active member of the Baptist Church.
Louise loved to help people, especially her siblings and did so throughout her life. She was a "Second Mother" to her siblings, as well as their children. She was an avid seamstress, crafter, enjoyed scrapbooking and loved to cook, in addition to teaching and reading.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Taylor and Daisy Paden, brothers: Richard, Jerry, Perry and Dale Paden, two special nieces: Peggy and Becky.
Surviving Louise are her sisters: JoAnn Warren of Stilwell, OK, Edna Jean Helmick of Eastlake, OH, Linda Hensley and husband Don of Broken Arrow, OK, Jimmie Worth and husband David of Muskogee, OK, brother: Donald Paden and wife Joann of Ft. Wayne, IN, sisters-in-law: Dixie Paden and Dianne Paden, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at 2 pm on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Mike Newberry officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
