Loyed Lee Bailey was born December 21, 1919 in Proctor, Ok to John and Mae Vaughn Bailey. He is survived by two sisters Lucille May of Mena, AR and Earlene Stephens of Sallisaw, OK. One brother Leonard Bailey of Van Buren, AR, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends also survive him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl, his parents, four brothers Enoch, Lester, Roy and Riley Bailey, and one sister Ethel Brayshaw. Loyed was a man who was known by his strong work ethics. He spent most of his life working at jobs like running a dozer, working in the mines, logging and as a laborer in different industries. Even after retiring he cut wood, milked cows and mowed lawns, and always looking for something to do. Loyed gave of his time and resources. There were numerous stories of his acts of kindness and giving to help other in need. He once traded a standard shift car off to get an automatic so one of the kids could take their drivers test in it. Many people lived with him and Pearl throughout the years. Their house was a haven for those who needed a place to stay until they got on their feet. Several in this room were recipients of that hospitality. Pearl and Loyed were always generous and supportive of their pastors and the church. When they attended the log cabin church near Bunch, Loyed would arrive early to build a fire in the wood stove. He was often kidded for burning down the church after one of them caught the church on fire.
