**In Loving Memory of Lucille "Lucy" Owl-Salinas**
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lucille "Lucy" Owl-Salinas, aged 77, on March 11, 2025, in Bunch, Oklahoma. Lucy's journey began on August 4, 1947, when she was warmly welcomed into this world by her parents, Daniel and Lizzie Owl, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Lucy embodied love and compassion, always prioritizing the needs of others before her own. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she filled her home with warmth and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. A lifelong member of Beaver Baptist Church, Lucy cherished her faith and the community that surrounded her, finding great comfort and joy in their fellowship.
Despite facing her own health challenges, Lucy remained a steadfast source of encouragement for others, radiating strength and kindness. Her gentle spirit was reflected in her thoughtful words and her incredible culinary talents, which included cooking, canning, and baking that brought families together around the table. Lucy’s legacy is one of unwavering support, boundless generosity, and a deep-rooted love that will resonate for years to come.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Valente; her son, Michael Cooksey, and wife Sharri; her daughter, Benita Kunze, and husband Ricky Lee; her cherished niece, Jennifer Reynaga; and her adored grandchildren: four grandsons, Danny Kunze, Richard Dale Kunze III, Cody Cooksey, and Michael Cooksey, as well as granddaughter Nicole Cooksey. Lucy also treasured her great-grandson, Cody Lane Cooksey, and great-granddaughter, Paisley Cooksey. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Daniel Lee Owl, and the loving community of Bunch.
Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law Richard Dale Kunze II, and numerous siblings—Joe and Sam Owl, Mary Waters, Peggy Williams, Nellie Pettit, Woodall Owl, Nancy Bunch, Sam Lewis Owl, Daylight Owl, and Steve Owl—who welcomed her with open arms into eternal peace.
As we celebrate Lucy’s remarkable life, let us carry forward her legacy of love, faith, and kindness, ensuring that her spirit lives on in each of us.
