Madeline Corky Sylvester, daughter of Wosker Rome and Willie Lee Rutherford Ross, was born on August 20, 1930 in Chance, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Monday, September 2, 2013 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years and 13 days. Madeline supported her family working as a Nurse Aide in the Healthcare industry. She loved her family and friends dearly. She was a part of a large family that has been an important part of the community. Madeline will be remembered for her kindness and gentle soul. Preceding her in death were her parents: Wosker and Willie Ross, sisters: Willodean Cooper, Zella Shipley, Carolyn Barlow, brothers: J.W. Ross, Darrell Ross, Harold Dale Ross, Jerry Ross and Eugene Ross. She is survived by a loving family that includes her children: Ross Fain and wife Shirley of Fayetteville, AR, Reta Fain of Tahlequah, OK, Roger Fain and wife Elsie of Salina, OK, stepchildren: Robert Sylvester and wife Judy of Camden, DE, Debbie Marro of Dover, DE, grandchildren: Roy and Brian Fain of Watts, OK, Melanie Ballard of Park Hill, OK, Kenneth Wilson of Stuart, OK, Shanon Gower of Moody, OK, April Fain of Fayetteville, Angela Patterson of Fort Campbell, KY, step grandchildren: Dena Nay, Nate Marro, Troy Sylvester, 11 great grandchildren and 2 greatgreat grandchildren, brother: Sheridan Ross of Watts, OK, sister: Jo Ann Luper of Claremore, OK. Many other relatives and friends also survive her. Funeral services at 10 am on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Roberts Hart Chapel with Ronnie Bradshaw officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery.
