Margaret Wermy

Margaret Ann “Sis” (Eagle) Wermy was born on August 21, 1956 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Susie Lee (Eagle) Springwater and Jimmy “Sonny” Eagle, Sr. and passed from this life on November 21, 2020 at the age of 64 years and 3 months.

Margaret started working at Haskell Indian Nations University on Aug 10th, 1988.  There, she established herself as an essential employee.  She was in charge of all the banquets and activities that the cafeteria would do for the students.  While at Haskell, Margaret met her future husband of 22 years, Ralph Wermy Jr.  Margaret and Ralph married on April 25th, 1998.  They enjoyed trying new restaurants, shopping, and taking her beloved Chihuahua Elise (Baby Girl) on long walks.  She also enjoyed watching her son Ralph III play football.  Margaret loved to garden, grow vegetables, and cook.  She spent most of her Sundays in the house of the Lord.

Margaret could light up a room with her smile and love.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and have sleep overs at Meme’s house. Throughout the years, Margaret would help raise children from any family in need.  She was also known as Sissy or Sis and everyone called her by her nickname.  Margaret enjoyed watching the shows Wings, Frasier, and Everybody Loves Raymond.  Margaret will always be remembered as a woman who put others needs before her own and a woman of faith.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents: Susie (Eagle) Springwater and Jimmy “Sonny” Eagle, Sr. and two brothers: Jimmy Edward Eagle and Darrell Wayne (Geno) Eagle. Her grandparents: Albert Springwater and Dora Adair, Jim and Maude (Flynn) Eagle.

Margaret is survived by her husband: Ralph of the home in Lawrence, KS. Her son: Ralph Wermy III; granddaughter: Hendrix Wermy and grandsons: Axton and Waylon Wermy all of Lawrence, KS. Brothers: Albert Eagle, Sr. and wife Lawanna, Jimmie Eagle, Rodney Eagle and Lawrence Scott, Jr. all of Stilwell, OK. Sisters: Sharon (Eagle) Pritchett, Diane (Eagle) Fourkiller both of Stilwell, OK and Beatrice Thompson and husband Chris of Tahlequah, OK. Aunts Louise Littlejohn and husband Ronnie of Stilwell, OK, Chris Feeling of Tahlequah, OK, Deloris Meissner of Tahlequah, OK, Dorothy Foster and husband Charles of Tahlequah OK,  Uncle Stoney Eagle and wife Louann of Stilwell, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and many family and friends.
