Martha Gore, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away on November 14, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on May 24, 1942, Martha lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep love for her passions and community service.
Martha's interests were as diverse as they were enriching. She found joy in quilting and cross-stitching, creating beautiful pieces that often became treasured gifts for family and friends. Her love for cats was evident, and she delighted in their companionship. Martha was an avid gardener, finding solace in nurturing her plants and flowers, and was also a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Martha generously dedicated her time to volunteering at the local food pantry and library. Her commitment to civic engagement was exemplified by her active role in working the elections, and she also contributed to her community by helping raise funds for the library. Her unwavering dedication to helping others left a significant impact on those around her.
Martha is preceded in death by her husband Otis Gore, her parents James and Maybelle Green, her brother James Warren Green Jr., and her sister Anita Rogers.
She is survived by her son Leslie Gore and his wife Carol, as well as her daughter Velma Tauriainen and her husband Eric. She was a proud grandmother to her four grandchildren: John Gore, Amanda Cluck, Jennifer Riley, and Josie Blaylock. Her legacy of love continues with her seven great-grandchildren: Rylie, Olivia, Parker, Samuel, Kinsley, Declan, and Evelyn. Each one held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in watching them grow and thrive.
Martha Gore will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and passionate volunteer who dedicated her life to the betterment of her family and community. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
