Mary Cain

February 18, 1938 — January 15, 2023

Mary Ann (Choate) Cain was born on February 18, 1938, in Bunch, Oklahoma. She was the second child to Edna (Thurber) Choate and Elmer Choate.

Her lifelong friend and older sister: Lois Bradford; as well as her younger brother: Felix Choate have both preceded her in death.

She lived her childhood in Bunch and attended Union grade school now known as Cave Springs. Her childhood was an adventure. Her family owned a large home that they shared with her paternal grandparents. It also operated as a boarding house for many railroad workers and travelers. The railroad served as a hub for the community and provided Ann her first of many jobs. She collected local mail by horseback and hung the bags for the train to pick-up. Ann Also worked as a waitress, field laborer, and in clothing retail.

Ann attended the Bunch Methodist Church but was saved as a 12 year old girl after attending Bunch Baptist Church pastored by Noble Casey. She said after leaving the service she told her mother she wanted to be saved. Her mother knelt and prayed with her on the porch that evening.

In 1954 Ann married Bill Cain, her lifelong love. They had 3 daughters: Donna James and husband Gary, Lois Ann Auffet and husband Curtis, and Tricia Christie and husband Mark. Bill and Ann lived in Tulsa for 3 years before buying land at Rocky Mountain where they resided until their deaths. They were lifetime, faithful members of the Rocky Mountain Bible Church; where they were both baptised at Lester Turners in Caney Creek after Bill accepted Christ in 1968.

Bill and Ann were blessed with 9 grandchildren: Amy Maxwell, Alivia Fletcher, Nathan James, Amanda Whiteley, Zach Auffet, Alexandria Price, Abby Perez, Alese Owens, Arika Leach, and 29 great grandchildren.

Bill passed from this life in 2003 leaving Ann to continue faithful service to her family, friends, and church.
