Mary Dotson

Mary Belle Hallford Dotson was born to Jesse and Flora Holland Hallford on September 3, 1935 at what is now called 4700 South Road, Stilwell, OK. She departed this life on September 29, 2014 to be with her Lord at the age of 79 years and 26 days.

Mary attended Zion School, Stilwell High School and received a degree and teaching certificate from Northeastern State in Tahlequah. She taught school in Westville, Zion, Falls School District in Cleveland County and MidDel School District in Oklahoma County, OK.

She met and married her friend, neighbor and soul mate, James Jim Dotson in May of 1958 to which three children were born James David, Margaret Ilene and Joseph Elmer. Jim, Mary and family traveled all 48 of the lower states, Alaska and enjoyed traveling in Europe as well.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, brothers Owen, Ben, Henry Gene, sisters Alene and Marguerite, nephews Randy and Bill Hallford and niece Janice Jones.

Survivors include Jim of the home, sons David and wife Karen of Stilwell, Joe and wife Tammy of Moore, OK, daughter Eileen Dewey of Midwest City, grandson Nicholas Dewey of Midwest City, OK, Micah Dewey of Tulsa, OK, step grandson Adam Allen, step granddaughter Amanda Yates and husband Robert of Rogers, AR, and step great granddaughter Maggie Yates of Rogers, AR, a host of other relatives and many friends.
