Paulette Cockman Roberts entered this world on May 17, 1943 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She departed for heaven on July 24, 2012 at the age of 69 years and 2 months. During her time here on this earth, she touched many lives as she taught more than one generation of children about God and Salvation through Jesus Christ in Childrens Church. She prayed for and encouraged numerous friends throughout the years. She came to Palmdale with her family in 1955 and graduated from Palmdale High School in 1961. Paulette delighted in Gods creations and spent many hours watching various birds, especially delighting in the antics of hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alden and Pauline Cockman, of Palmdale, California. Paulette is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim Roberts, of Palmdale, CA, two sons, James Roberts and wife Jelena of Atlanta, Ga., Tim Roberts and wife Teresa of Stilwell, Ok., and daughter Kim Roberts of Little Rock, AR. She also leaves behind her beloved Grandchildren Heath Roberts of Benton, AR., Joey Kirk and husband Marcus of Stilwell, OK, Alina Roberts and Anessia Roberts of Atlanta, GA., and Aiden Roberts of Little Rock, AR., along with two greatgrandchildren Hayden Kirk and Taylor Rayne Kirk of Stilwell, one brother John Cockman of Huntington Beach, CA and one uncle, Gene Cockman of Palmdale, CA. OK, along with many nephews and cousins. Paulette was well known for her fun personality, sweet spirit, and caring heart. She was always trying to help someone or make them smile. She loved children and spent many years teaching kids at church and was most well known for her stories of squeaky mouse and for going on a bear hunt. She was a devoted Mom and would do whatever she could to protect andor help her kids. She was a loving wife and took great joy in her cooking She was always trying new recipes and experimenting in the kitchen. She will be missed by many, but is celebrating now in Heaven. She moved to Stilwell in 1973 with her husband James and three small children. The experience of moving from Southern California to rural Oklahoma was a tremendous culture shock for her, but she adapted and came to love the area and the people she met there. In 2001 she reluctantly returned to California to care for her aging parents and dreamed of coming home once again to Stilwell, but God had other plans so she bypassed Stilwell and went straight to heaven. A celebration of her life will be held at the Christian Worship Center located on Highway 100 Southeast of Stilwell, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012.
