Maudie Hern

Maudie Beatrice Hern, daughter of Bill and Hazel Bessie Lou Anderson White was born June 6, 1918 in Christie, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on April 7, 2012 in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 1 day. She was married to Cecil Hern and to this union 5 children were born Sharlene, Elaine, Marilyn, David and Larry. She loved reading, gospel music, traveling tending to her flowers and garden. She was a great cook and loved to have homemade canned goods for all the family to enjoy, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and making precious memories they will forever cherish. She was a member of several organizations including Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, NRA, Cattlemens Association and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Westville. Maudie was preceded in death by her parents her husband Cecil Hern, Daughter Elaine Hern and 1 brother J.L. White. She is survived by a very loving family that includes her 4 children Sharlene Anderson and husband Leo of Salina, OK, Marilyn Joplin and husband Jerry of Collinsville, OK, David W. Hern and wife Betty of Harrisonville, MO, Larry Hern and wife Bethel of Summers, AR, 9 grandchildren Paulita Brooker, Sandy McKinzie, Stacy Harp, Burl Edward Forbes Jr., Sherrie Lynn Redding, James Hern, Michael Hern, Marty Hern and Kelly Kirby. 20 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters Fawntreba Pyrtle of Edwardsville, IL, and Rosemary Hamilton of Austin, TX, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Roberts Chapel, Westville with Bro. Audie Vaughan and Bro. Mike Hayes officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery.
