Morrice Mark Ghormley, son of Walter Franklin Ghormley and Artie Brown Ghormley, was born on December 7, 1922 in Moodys, Oklahoma and departed this life on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Claremore, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years and 3 months. He moved to Nescoop Prairie in December 7, 1930. Mark attended school at Taylor and graduated high school at Watts in 1943. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy. Mark served from 1943 until 1946 in the Philippines and New Guinea. He received several medals while serving. Mark returned to Adair County, where he made his home. He married Madge Lucille Hastings on November 8, 1948 and to this union 3 children were born. He was a farmer all of his life. Mark was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Artie Ghormley, brothers: William Wayne and Quinton Meade Ghormley. He is survived by his wife, Madge, of the home in Watts, three children: Barbara Partain and husband Danny of Watts, Linda Brown and husband Leonard of Tahlequah, OK, James Ghormley of Siloam Springs, AR, grandchildren: Melissa White and husband John of Bella Vista, AR, Kelly Willis and Estel Willis of Watts, great grandchildren: Derek, Blake and Caden Willis, Jordan and Lauren White, brother: Barney Ghormley of Watts, several other relatives and many friends.
