Neoma Cochran

Neoma Ruth (Daugherty) Cochran was born on November 9th, 1944 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Snow and Winnie (Soap) Daugherty and passed away peacefully on December 26th, 2020 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 17 days.

She was married to Price Cochran on May 8th, 1964 in Stilwell, Oklahoma.  She attended school at Bell Elementary and continued her education at Sequoyah High School.  Neoma worked as a teacher’s aide for 16 years at Bell School.  Neoma was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church.  She was also a Cherokee First Speaker.  Neoma’s hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren, hunting for mushrooms, picking wild onion, going on long drives, and she loved watching her grandchildren play sports.

Neoma was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers: Martin, Johnny, Jerry, and Curtis Ray Daugherty, two sisters: Lizzie Flynn and Emma Lou Eagle and her son-in-law Denton Killer.

She is survived by a very loving family that includes her children: Donita Killer of the home in Stilwell, OK, Curtis Cochran of Skiatook, OK, Charlie Scott and husband Terry of Stilwell, OK, Mack Cochran and wife Chris of Harrison, AR, Sammie Miller and husband Quinton of Stilwell, OK, and grandson Wyatt Killer whom she helped raise, 18 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren; two sisters: Lou Anne Eagle and husband Stoney and Doris Canoe; brothers-in-law: Jerry Cochran and wife Nita, Johnny Cochran and wife Marilyn, Sanders Cochran and Adam Doublehead; sisters-in-law: Jessie Daughery, Christine Daugherty, and Emma Jean Cochran all of Stilwell, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends, and all her special kids that called her GRAN!!
