Otis Gore

Otis Richard Gore, Son of Jess Jackson and Bertha Velma Hunt Gore, was born in the Rock Springs Community of Adair County, Oklahoma on November 24, 1938 and departed this life on July 23, 2009 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 29 days. Otis was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was proud to have served with the Army Reserve. Otis graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1968 with a Bachelors Degree and became ARA approved after taking Post Grad classes in Real Estate Appraisal. He was a Farmer and an active member of the Stilwell Community. Otis was preceded in death by his parents: Jess and Bertha Gore, his brothers: Howard and Ross Gore, his sisters: Julia Neff Terrell, Ola Hendrix Merriott and Violet Faye Merriott. Otis is survived by his wife Martha of the home in Stilwell, his son: Leslie Gore and wife Carol of Stilwell, his daughter: Velma Tauriainen and husband Eric of Sand Springs, OK, his grandchildren: John Gore of Stillwater, OK, Amanda Gore of Stilwell, Jennifer Hammock and Josie Hammock of Sand Springs, OK, his brother: John J Gore of Pasco, WA, his sister: Jewell Thorne of Ozark, MO, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 in the RobertsReed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Leo Allard officiating. Interment to follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of RobertsReed-Culver Funeral Home.
