Pamela Diane Schmidt, daughter of Conrad Campbell and Charlotte Hutcheson, was born on December 19, 1949 in Eugene, Oregon and departed this life on November 8, 2017 in Stilwell, Oklahoma.
Pam was part of a large extended family that included several brothers and sisters. She graduated from Oakdale High School in 1968. After a near fatal car accident her senior year, Pam moved to Stockton, CA. She worked at a medical supply store where she met her husband of 45 years, Dana. She was very active in the wheelchair community, even participating in the Paralympics. One of her greatest accomplishments was being chosen to represent California and speak to Congress about the importance of enacting the American with Disabilities Act. After several years of marriage, God blessed Pam with a baby girl, Dana Marie. Pam loved being a mom and devoted all her free time being involved in her daughter's life. She loved kids and was thrilled to be able to babysit her nephew, Michael, and niece, Courtney; they were like grandchildren to her. When she finally did become a grandma, Pam was beyond excited. Her granddaughters DJ & Ali became her life.
In 2005, Pam and her family moved to Stilwell to be with her dear friends, Lindy and the late Philip Mahaney. She enjoyed the slower life and peace that Oklahoma brought her. She spent her days working as a seamstress at the fabric shop, attending her grandkids various sports and activities, watching the animals outside her back door, and enjoying her beloved dogs. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family, and she was honored to extend her love to so many, including a very special young man whom she considered a grandson, Billy McNac.
Pam is preceded in death by her father Conrad, stepfather Marion, brother Gary, sister Gail, and dear friends Phillip & Binkie.
She is survived by a loving family that includes: her husband Dana, daughter Dana Marie, granddaughters DJ and Ali, and grandson Billy, all of the home. Mother Charlotte Hutcheson of Modesto, CA.
