Peggy Aliene Sowder, daughter of Lee Allen and Dona Elizabeth Thweatt Cloud, was born July 17, 1931 in Amarillo, Texas and departed this life on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 23 days. Peggy married Kenneth on April 13, 1952. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage and a full, loving life together. She loved her family and the Lord with all of her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lee and Dona Cloud, and sister: Billie Mathis. Surviving her are a loving family that includes her husband: Kenneth Sowder of the home in Westville, OK, children: Roger Sowder and wife Rhonda of Gentry, AR, Robert Sowder and wife Scarlett of Bentonville, AR, Pam Stick and husband Gary of Wagoner, OK, 5 granddaughters: Tanya Hembry and husband L J of Bentonville, AR, Natasha Wood and husband Scott of Bentonville, AR, Jennifer Turtle and husband Jason of Colcord, OK, Amber Sowder of Tahlequah, OK, Ashley Christenson and husband Collin of Moore, OK, 7 great grandchildren, sisters: Juanita Haines of Amarillo, TX, Rita Sprague of Florida, brothers: Herschel Cloud of California, Hank Cloud of Edmond, OK, Tom Cloud of Amarillo, TX and many other relatives and friends. Peggy had a deep love for children. As well as raising her own, she ran a one person day care for several years. She then spent 3 years working with her husband as a truck driver going to nearly every state. She was very proud of his accomplishments. When physical limitations kept her husband from driving, she finally retired along with him to enjoy the golden years. Peggy had a real love for her church and continued working with children in Sunday School, where many of the parents were those she had cared for so many years before. Kenneth Sowder Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Westville, OK with Bro. James Duffell officiating. Interment followed at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, OK under the direction of RobertsReedCulver Funeral Home and Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
