Posey Orval Buckner was 1 of 11 children born to Leland Dow Buckner and Evelyn Lois (Brown) Buckner on May 25,1935 at their home in the Ewing Chapel Community of Stilwell, OK.
He attended school at Ewing Chapel Elementary and Stilwell High School.
Posey joined the United States Army during his senior year in May of 1954. He was stationed in France and honorably discharged in January 1959.
He was united in marriage to Floyatta Buckner on Nov 23, 1964. They had three children, Michael Buckner, Paul Buckner and Lisa Buckner-Condrey. Through the years Posey worked in construction as a master-carpenter with his brother-in-law's company, Smith Construction, where he built homes for the Cherokee Nation and other tribes. His last job was as an inspector for the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation.
Posey became a member of the Church of Christ and attended services with the Four Corners Congregation.
Posey was preceded in death by his parents, Leland & Evelyn Lois, mother and father-in-law, Claude & Madge Wilson, brothers Billy Carl, Mosey 0., Paul, Bob, and Adrian. His sisters, Genevieve, and Evelyn Kay.
He is survived by his wife, Floyatta Buckner, Sons, Michael and Paul Buckner, and daughter Lisa Condrey and brothers; Gerald Buckner, and Allen Buckner of Stilwell and Vernon Clay of Tahlequah, Ok.
He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Travis Buckner, Michael Buckner, Emily Sam, Danielle Sam, Patrick Sam, and Chase Buckner. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren; Severous, Rylie, and Evelyn June and many relatives and friends.
