Richard Powers

Richard James Powers, son of Richard A. and Leona M. Wikoff Powers, was brought into this world on August 31, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and departed this life on Saturday, January 2, 2010 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 2 days. Richard was a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. After moving to Adair County, he worked with his dad at R A Powers Printing Company for several years. He also worked at the local grocery store where he stocked shelves and carried out groceries. He enjoyed this job because it gave him the opportunity to meet the people of Stilwell. Richard loved flea markets. He would trade and collect antiques. On the weekends he enjoyed setting up his area at the flea market and meeting many new people. He will be deeply missed. Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Leona Powers, a brother: Bob Powers, a sister: Dixie Ellison and his wife: Wanda Jean Powers. Those left to keep his memory are his children: Linda Powers and husband Jimmy Hawkins of Stilwell, OK, Wesley Powers and wife Bobbie of Stilwell, OK, Ronnie Powers and wife Selena of Oaks, OK, Jeff Powers of Enid, OK, grandchildren: Austin Powers, Brittany Powers, Bradley Powers, Tracee Hawkins, Jamie Hawkins, Darla Hawkins, Ashley Hawkins, all of Stiwell, OK, Steven Powers and wife Tori of Hulbert, OK, Brian Powers of Tahlequah, OK and Danielle Powers of Rose, OK, great grandchildren: Ryan Hawkins of Stilwell, OK, William Newt Powers of Tahlequah, OK, sister: Jayne Sarli of St. Louis, MO, many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at RobertsReedCulver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gary Fountain officiating. Interment followed at Chalk Bluff Cemetery under the direction of RobertsReedCulver Funeral Home.
