Ronnie Colston

May 8, 1951 — August 26, 2018

Ronnie Lee Colston, son of Willie Robert and Bertie Pauline (Fullerton) Colston, was born on May 8, 1951 in Branson, Missouri and passed from this life on August 26, 2018 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas at 67 years of age.

Ronnie attended the Maryetta School System. After leaving school, he went to work for Steel Canning, Co. in Westville and stayed there for 5 years. Upon his departure from the canning company, Ronnie started at Baldor Electric. He was an employee there for 4 years. Ronnie then made a move to James Craig Poultry in Charleston, Arkansas. During his time there, he advanced to the position of Foreman and remained there for over 7 years until he was diagnosed with cancer.

Ronnie enjoyed the outdoors. He liked to hunt and fish. His pets held a special place in his heart. Helping people in need was very important to him. He truly enjoyed gospel music.

He met Sharon at the Strawberry Festival on the courthouse steps on May 8, 2010, his birthday. They were married a month later and have been happy together since. Ronnie & Sharon attended Gleaners Holiness Church while they lived for 5 years in Holdenville, the attended White Chapel Pentecostal Church in Gore, OK for the past 3 years. Ronnie enjoyed and looked forward to time spent with his Christian brothers and sisters. He cherished their friendship. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Bertie Colston, sister: Nola Fay Colston, son: Aaron Wayne Colston and his twin brothers: Eddie and Teddie Colston.

A loving and devoted family survives him. They include his wife: Sharon Kirkland of the home in Vian, OK, children: Bobby Colston of Westville, Tracy Barrera and husband Alex of Ft. Smith, AR, Misty Hudson and husband Scottie of Lincoln, AR, grandchildren: Brittany Colston, Casey Colston of Ft. Smith, Connor Colston, Logan Colston, Landon Colston of Stilwell, OK, Dusty Hudson and Shady Hudson of Lincoln, AR, Brian, Chase and Alex Barrera of Ft. Smith, 3 great grandchildren, siblings: Charles Colston and wife Ruth of Stilwell, Earl Colston and wife Carolyn of Chewey, OK, Donald Colston of Westville, Sue Walker of Westville, Donna Thomas of Piney, OK, Jane Jones and husband Jay of Westville, Viola Hart of Westville. A multitude of other relatives and friends also survive him.

Graveside services were held at 2 pm on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Ewing Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Glenn Hopkins and Bro. Tony Chesser officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
