Roy Dewayne Jackson, a beloved son, partner, father, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on March 8, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy enriched by his passion for music, his kindness, and his devotion to his family.
Born to Roy Lee Jackson and Leta Jackson, Roy cherished his role as a son and was proud of his family heritage. He was particularly well known for his musical talents; in his younger years, he played both the guitar and the drums. Alongside his love for music, Roy had a keen interest in coin collecting, a hobby that brought him joy and a sense of accomplishment. Roy's love extended to the four-legged members of his family, particularly his cherished kittens. He will be remembered not only as a talented musician but also as a good son and a devoted family man.
He is survived by his life partner, Lynette Brasure, his mother, Leta Jackson, brother Jeff Jackson and wife Trina, sister Karen Brown, his daughter Miranda Jackson, and his grandson Drexel Nutter. He was a proud uncle to many, including nieces Crystal Atkeson, Jessica Burris, Amber Brown, Caylin Jackson (and her husband Trenton), and nephew Sam Hopkins Jr.
Roy Dewayne Jackson is preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Jackson, brother Bryan Jackson, and nephews Andrew Hopkins and Chris Jackson.
The impact Roy had on those around him will be felt for years to come. His creative spirit and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
