Roy was the first born of LeeRoy and Joy (Mills) Longshore. He was born in Bunch, Oklahoma and departed his earthly home in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years and 11 months.
He was a graduate of Cave Springs High School and then attended Okmulgee Tech where he obtained his upholstery certification. He worked for short time in Roland, Oklahoma as an upholsterer. He worked in several positions at Stilwell Foods for 23 years. He then went to work for Pettit Jean Poultry in Stilwell where he retired in 1990 due to health concerns.
Roy loved piddling outdoors. He had a very green thumb and tried to stay active. You could find him in the backyard tending to cattle, his small flock of chickens, and his many pepper plants most days. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was a friendly face to meet, no matter who you were. He was kind, and wise in his years.
Roy’s biggest claim to fame was his family. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and his wife of 35 years.
Roy is preceded in death by both parents, LeeRoy and Joy, a nephew, Mark Brent Longshore, one sister in law, Andrea (Cain) Longshore, 2 brothers in law, Kenneth Limore Sr and Stimson Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Joanie (Gordon) Longshore, 2 daughters Leah Tinsley and husband Chad of Parkhill, OK, Denise Brown and husband Jason of Stilwell, OK, 1 son, Blake Longshore and girlfriend Nevlyn Mann of Rogers, AR, 5 grandchildren Lisa Christie and husband Jeff, Michaela Sedillo, Kenna Roberts and husband Josh, Brett Brown and fiancée Symphoni Shomo, and Ashley Fenn and husband Josh. 2 great grandchildren Dominic and Leah Sedillo and 1 great grandchild due in September, 5 siblings Dennis Longshore and wife Virginia, Linda Kay Rogers, Micky Longshore and wife Dianne, Ricky Longshore , and Reta Limore. He is also survived by many family members and friends.
Roy will be truly missed by all. May he rest in peace and fly high with the angels.
