Geneva was born to Ormo and Dora Blakemore on October 3, 1917, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and left this life to be present with the Lord on December 6, 2011, at the age of 94 years, 2 months, and 3 days. She was married to Welford West on December 29, 1940, and to this union were born 3 children: Jim, Joy, and Paul. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, 3 brothers, and 1 great grandson. She is survived by 3 children, Jim West and wife, Connie, and Joy Hall and husband, Terry, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Paul West of Tahlequah, Oklahoma 1 sister, Mae Jean Johnson and husband Johnny B. of Stilwell 4 grandchildren, Wesley West and wife, Oma, Glenn West and wife, Tammy, and Kris Hall and wife, Shana, all of Stilwell, and Dawn Jackson and husband, Paul, of Norman, Oklahoma 9 great grandchildren, 1 greatgreat grandchild, and a multitude of other relatives and friends. Geneva loved being a homemaker. Taking care of Welford was her pleasure for over 60 years. She loved to sew and cook, and she was a gifted artist. She was a lifetime member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Geneva will be sorely missed by her family and friends, but the expectation of seeing her and Welford again in the next dimension makes the grief of her departure easier. The following prayer, which Geneva had printed out on several cards and looked at often, was what she prayed for her life, and the Lord answered it, as she truly was a most virtuous woman and her price far above rubies. Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace Where there is hatred, let me sow love Where there is injury, pardon Where there is doubt, faith Where there is despair, hope Where there is darkness, light Where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console to be understood as to understand to be loved as to love for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned and it is in dying that we are born to eternal live. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Jim West officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
