Russell Nofire

Russell Shawn Nofire was born on May 12, 1975 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Sam and Marie (Flynn) Nofire. He passed from this life on February 14, 2021 at home in the Rocky Mountain Community in Adair County at the age of 45 years, 9 months, and 2 days.

Russell attended Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After completing High School, he worked for Tyson Foods in Stilwell, Oklahoma and then worked for Bowden Termite and Pest Control in Fort Gibson for many years. He later moved back to Stilwell and was employed at Schwan’s for 6 years, until his health would not permit him.

Russell enjoyed spending time with his family, especially when OU games were on, he was a die-hard OU fan. He loved to watch NASCAR, UFC Fights, his NY Giants, and his baseball team the Boston Red Sox.

Russell will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister, brothers, aunts, and uncles.

Surviving Russell is a loving family that includes his companion for 13 years: Rebecca Smith, children: Kaisha Nofire, and Canaan Nofire both of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Siblings: Carmella Nofire of Bunch, Oklahoma, Mary Sanchez and husband Crispin Sanchez of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Ned Flynn and Verena of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Lizzie Lee of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Jerry Adair and wife Patty of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Mike Adair of Kentucky, Richard Nofire of Ketchum, Oklahoma, Norman Nofire of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sherman Nofire of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Euphemia Johns of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Gary Leach officiating.  Interment followed at Barber Cemetery, Welling, Ok.
