Sandra J. Worsham, 67, was born in Fayetteville, AR on January 26, 1944 to James T. and Ethel Holt Worsham. She went to her Savior and Lord surrounded by family and friends on November 18th at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Her sudden death of an aggressive cancer was unexpected. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Stilwell, OK and Central Christian Church, Decatur, IL. Sandra was raised with a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Stilwell, OK. Music was her passion in life and she studied music throughout her youth at Stilwell High School, graduating in 1962. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she performed many times as a vocal and piano soloist. She graduated Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO, and continued studies at Teachers College in Hayes, KS. She moved with friends to teach English in Decatur, IL and Cerro Gordo Middle School. She has lived in Decatur for 40 years. Sandra received her masters degree from University of Illinois. Sandras love of music and literature led her to travel and enjoy opera in Chicago, New York, and Dallas, TX. Most recently she traveled to Israel. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist and studied with Professor Elizabeth Travis of Millikin University and Dr. Maria Horvath of Rochester, IL. She was a lifetime member of NEA, former pianist and music director at Northwest Christian Church, member of Decatur Central Christian Church where she loved singing in the choir, and was a member of Zontas International Club. She frequently traveled to Hawaii and supported the Sunset Beach Christian School at Haleiwa. Family events, reunions, nieces and nephews, playing tennis, sailing, cross country skiing, swimming, and golf were all activities she enjoyed. She was a great friend and joy giver. Her faith in the Lord was a cornerstone upon which she lived. She is survived by her brother Wallace Worsham, and friend Mary Catherine Worsham, of Stilwell, OK a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, and her beloved shelty dog, Callie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
