Steven Brown

Steven Dewayne Brown, 55, of Stilwell, passed away on December 11, 2017 in Tulsa from congestive heart failure.
Steven was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Shirley Brown (Ross) on November 29,1962. Steve had several men in his life that served as father figures. Phillip Brown, for which he was named, Earl Davis his uncle, J.D. Ross his stepfather, and his father James Rock. He graduated from Stilwell High School. He had one daughter, Stevie Nicole Brown and two bonus children, LaDonna Ballard and Bryce James Ballard. In his lifetime Steven worked as a factory worker, construction worker, butcher's helper, janitor at NSU and gas station attendant. He attended Indian Capital Technology Center in Sallisaw and received his certificate as a licensed security guard. Steven was once voted the "Friendliest Guy" in Stilwell during a newspaper promotion. He loved horseraces, watching John Wayne Movies and gardening.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Brown and his mother Shirley Brown Ross, his sister Brenda Mae Brown, brothers- Howard Micheal Brown, Harold Lee Brown.
Steven Dewayne Brown is survived by Ramona Perse Brown of the home, LaDonna Ballard of the home; Stevie Brown and husband Keyoki of Tulsa Oklahoma, Bryce James Ballard and wife Alicia of Okmulgee, Sisters- Phyllis Walton and husband David of Lincoln; Bobbi Jo Crooch and husband Bob of Checotah; Brothers Larry Brown and Gary Brown of Stilwell. His grandchildren Kaleah and KJ Gamble. His dad James Rock and wife Phyllis. His half- brother Scott Rock and wife Shannon and Half-sister April Rock. Steve is also survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved very much.
Graveside services were held at 1 pm on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Piney Cemetery, Stilwell, OK with Brother Johnny DeWayne Hammer officiating.
