Susan Stand

Susan Stand of Evansville, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 55 years, 1 month and 9 days.  She was born on February 29, 1968, in Springdale, Arkansas to Curley and Sarah Hawkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stand and her father, Curley Hawkins.

Susan worked for TLG Peterbilt of N.W. Arkansas for the last 15 years.

She lived and worked in Springdale until 2007 when she moved to Evansville with John.

Susan is survived by her 3 sons: Wade Woodrum and his wife Cybill, Jimmie Burger, Aaron Burger and his wife Cassy, and  a bonus daughter: Misty Metcalf and her husband Jeff; her mother, Sarah Hawkins; 3 sisters: Sheila Jump and her husband Michael, Sharon Goddard and Melvin Jr., Barbara Morris and her husband Ty; 5 grandkids: Faith Woodrum, Lorelei Burger, Liam Burger, Yeley Metcalf and Racin Metcalf, and her companion Jeff Elger.

Susan started racing in 2005 at Thunder Valley.  She was track champion at West Siloam Springs in 2011 and 2013.  She also enjoyed racing at Salina Highbanks.  After the death of John, Susan found that she was interested in fishing and camping with Jeff.  She also learned to love farm life. Raising dozens of chickens and learning how to quilt.
