Sylvia Isaacs

Sylvia Margleen Shamblin Isaacs, 84, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was born on April 24, 1925 in Elkhurst, West Virginia to William Bill and Sarah Lyons Shamblin. In 1942, she went to Chester, Pa and worked in the shipyard She was a Rosie the Riveter, where she met Everett Isaacs, a sailor, who became her husband. They moved to his hometown, Stilwell, Okla. There she worked in the school system. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Sylvia enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and loved singing. She sang with a quartet that sang at conventions, churches, funerals and many other activities. She loved a good joke and liked playing practical jokes. Due to ill health, she moved to Ragley, Louisiana in 2004 to live with her daughter, Judy Geymann. Sylvia was met in heaven by those who had preceded her in death. Her husband, Everett Isaacs, in 1978. Her parents, 3 brothers: Virgil, Delmer and Perry Shamblin and 1 sister: Jessie K. Thompson. Left to honor her memory are her daughter: Judy Geymann of Lake Charles, LA, grandchildren: Jeffrey Beck of Durant, OK, Julie Williams and Jennifer Beck of Austin, TX, 2 great grandchildren: Andraz McDaniel and Jonah Beck, great great granddaughter: Aubree McDaniel, brothers: Junior Shamblin and wife Mary of Procious, WV, Okey Shamblin of Williamstown, KY, Rosco Shamblin and wife Carol of Girard, OH, sisters: Ruby Jamison of Hubbard, OH, Clarice Parsons and husband Ledore of Hubbard, OH, Shirley King and husband James of Ovapa, WV, many other relatives and friends. Services conducted by Rev. Mark Land of Beaumont Bible Church at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 at RobertsReed-Culver Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
