Teresa Marie Porter was born on April 1, 1980, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to Darrell Lee Porter and Darlene (Pack) Cooper and departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 43 years, 2 months, and 27 days.
Teresa grew up in Adair County where she attended grade school at Maryette, Christie, and Peavine, then she went to high school at Stilwell and Westville. Although she did not graduate high school, she did obtain her G.E.D., which she was very proud of. Teresa was employed at Baldor in Westville, Oklahoma, as well as other factories and fast-food restaurants prior to becoming a homemaker.
Teresa attended Bidding Creek Baptist Church as a child, which is where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior while attending church camp and was later baptized.
Teresa was a very loving and caring person even though she endured many struggles throughout her young life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. While growing up, she enjoyed sewing and art.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents Darrell Lee Porter and Darlene Sue (Pack) Cooper, as well as her stepfather Thomas Ponder, maternal grandparents Stella (Davis) Pack and Charlie Pack, paternal grandmother Lillie Porter, maternal great-grandmother Melvina Davis, a special maternal aunt Elise Kink, one niece, as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins who have passed before her.
Teresa leaves behind a loving family, which includes her husband Ben Sturm of Stilwell, OK, four children Dejanira Hinton and Gabrielle Smith of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Christopher Moore and wife Chares of Gentry, Arkansas, and Travis Porter of Russellville, Arkansas, five grandchildren Slater Davis, Aiden Brown, Sailor and Colt Tidwell, and Delilah Moore as well as another grandson on the way, three sisters Beverly Glory and husband Johnny of Welling, Oklahoma, Sandra Bolinger and husband David of Westville, Oklahoma, and Vivian Porter of Stilwell, Oklahoma, two brothers Jimmy Porter of Westville, Oklahoma, and Gary Cooper of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, two nephews Toby and Jacob Bolinger, five nieces Haley Bolinger, Nevaeh and Kharrima Wing, and Angela and Alisha Glory, one great-nephew Hazen Bolinger, four uncles, one aunt, as well as numerous cousins, extended relatives, and friends.
