Terry Neil Townes was born on May 25, 1938 in Amarillo, Texas as the only child of Deloris Stephens and Thomas Townes. He passed from this life on July 30, 2013 at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He joined the Army at the age of 21 years and served for 3 years as an Airborne Ranger. He worked with the Boy Scouts for 16 years and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Terry accomplished a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering while working for Southwestern Bell Telephone. He retired in 1988 with 28 years of service. Terry was proud of his Native American Heritage, being half Lakota Sioux. He was a talented artist and he loved carving wood, beading, drawing and painting. He donated his time to paint Disney characters on one of the ceilings at Childrens Hospital in Dallas, Texas in 1985. Terry had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles and started riding at the age of 8 years old. His first motorcycle was an Indian Chief. He rode for most of his life until he became ill in 2011. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Vicky L. MontgomeryTownes, 4 adult children 2 boys and 2 girls, 8 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren. Private Family Services are planned for a later date.
