Thelma Marie Jackson Vaughn was born on June 18, 1930 in Watts, Oklahoma to George Wellington Jackson and Cora Lee Pathkiller Jackson. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 14, 2012 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma. Thelma received her Bachelors Degree from NSU and was a dedicated school teacher for 24 years at Decatur Public Schools in Arkansas. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma. In 1955 she gave her life to the Lord and was a member of The First Covenant Church in Decatur. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds, but all of her most cherished love was for God, family and friends. On August 18, 1947, she married Henry Clay Vaughn in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Thelma and Henry loved to travel together and made many trips to California. They lived in Christie, Oklahoma and were married for 59 years. Into this union were born seven children: Roger, Karen, Janice and four infants. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, George and Cora, husband Henry, daughter Karen and four infants. She is survived by her son Roger Vaughn and wife Mary of Christie, OK and daughter Janice Maggard and husband Winford of Westville, OK and step son Jimmy Neugin and wife Debbie of Stilwell, OK. She has six grandchildren Ronnie Vaughn, Tonia Ennis and husband Bart, Clifton Vaughn and wife Misty, Jana Unger and husband Lance, Lee Maggard and wife Kristy, all of Westville, OK, Clayton Vaughn and wife Trina of Christie, OK. She also has 16 great grandchildren and three sistersinlaws, Effie Hubbard, Pearly Young and Rosa Vaughn and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Roberts Hart Chapel with Lance Unger officiating. Interment followed at ProctorSanders Cemetery, Proctor, OK.
