Theodore (Ted ) Lawson, Jr., son of Theodore, Sr. and Audie Mae McLain Lawson was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on March 17, 1933 and departed this life in Stilwell, Oklahoma to be with his Lord on March 27, 2016 at the age of 83 years and 10 days.
In 1951, as a young man he served his country in the Army as a sergeant in the Korean Conflict. He was a pole lineman and received the Korean Service Ribbon with 3 bronze service stars, the United National Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in November, 1953.
Ted became a soldier again in California in 1958 when he gave his life to the Lord and answered his calling to the ministry. He was an evangelist and pastor for 58 years and traveled to many of the states and into Mexico. He came back to Stilwell in 1973 and married the love of his life, Weetah Mae (Hannah) Weavel on March 17, 1974 and in this union two families became one.
Pastor Lawson was Founder of the "Bible Way Full Gospel" and together he and Weetah pastored several churches in Oklahoma until they made Honey Hill Church their home and attended there for the past 15 years.
A member of the Ewing Chapel Community for the past 37 years, Ted and Weetah enjoyed their life together, their family, going to singings, fishing and going "junking" with their babies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Leroy Lawson, a son, Theodore "Teddy" Lawson III, his mother-in-law, Geneva Hannah; great-grandson, RacinBrown; brothers-in-law Donald and Taylor Hannah; also sons-in-law Ralph Brown and Buford Dillard.
He leaves to mourn his passing; his wife, Weetah of the home; children: Joe Weavel and wife Pam of Tahlequah; Rojeanna Farmer and husband, Robert of Stilwell; Tom Lawson of South Carolina and Kim Lawson of California. Also a special daughter Tamm Sauls and husband, David of Morganton, North Carolina. Also, a granddaughter who was more like a daughter, Lisa Martinez. 20 Grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and nearly 50 foster children over 14 years.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, Oklahoma with Bro. Glenn Hopkins and Bro. Gerald Buckner officiating. Interment to follow at Ewing Chapel Cemetery, Stilwell, Oklahoma
