Thomas Clawson

Thomas Ray Clawson III, proud husband and father, age 36 of Stilwell, Oklahoma, passed away on June 27th 2024.

Born in Poteau, Oklahoma, September 28, 1987 to Thomas Ray Clawson Jr. and Sheryl Kay Clawson. 

He graduated from Panola High School in 2006 and went on to attend truck driving school, making oilfield and specialized logistics his career. 

Thomas was a devoted and loving husband to me and father to Adam, Ava, Aubri, Jayme, Serenity, and Breydon. We will all miss him more than words can describe. I will always appreciate the healing he brought when he entered our lives and fondly remember how he loved each one of us just as we needed. He truly loved being a family man. He always made us his first priority. 

Thomas always worked diligently to provide for his family. He was very generous, always aiming to be there in every way for those he loved and his community. Thomas made time to do fun activities with his family, even allowing the kids to crash date night regularly. He enjoyed sharing his many passions with us – especially fishing, tinkering, mechanics, bowling, cave spelunking, and music. He made a point to be an active participant in all of the children’s activities: school, band, sports, and birthday parties. Many times he would drive hundreds to thousands of miles home just to be present for me or the children.

 He wholeheartedly supported me in all of my endeavors: with achieving education goals, working, extra animals, extra kids; truly everything. No matter what I brought home, he would find a way to help me care for it. He only ever said “No” to a giraffe, and only after researching the possibilities of ownership. Thomas’s limitless kindness, generosity, strong work ethic and sense of humor are just a few of the qualities we will always cherish about him. 

Thomas was preceded in death by: His daughter, Jayme Ray Clawson, Paternal grandparents: Martha & Thomas Clawson Sr., Paternal great grandparents: Alfred and Louise Owens, and F.M. & Codie Clawson, Maternal grandparents Betty Kay and Doyal Rowland, Maternal Great grandparents John Troy & Bessie Collins and Georgia & Arthur Rowland,and Uncle Doyal Wayne Rowland.

He was survived by his children Adam, Ava, Aubri, Serenity and Breydon, his wife Angela, his parents Thomas Ray Clawson Jr. and Sheryl Kay Clawson, sisters: Jennifer Clawson and Jessica Clawson, nephews and niece: Toby Clawson, Colby Clawson, Jenna Clawson and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.
