Troy Roberts

Troy Edward Roberts, son of James Edward and Hildrige Mary Grubbs Roberts was born October 29, 1931 in Madison County, Arkansas and departed this life on September 23, 2014 at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Troy married the love of his life Mary Lee Elliott on August 23, 1952 and to this union 3 daughters were born Mary Ann, Lee Ann and Troy Lynn. He was blessed with two children from prior marriages Nina Cheryl Cheri McLeod and James Troy Roberts. He served over 30 years as a volunteer fireman for the Westville Fire Department. He truly loved his Westville Yellow Jackets and was a member of the chain gang for over 65 years. In 1974 he created Nu Life Manufacturing, he built this business from the ground up making, packaging and distributing fishing tackle .His other occupations included building campers and portable buildings, wiring grain elevators, teaching a vocational program at Colcord, Ok, house mover and truck driving. Troy loved to hunt, fish and a had a great love for his dogs but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Floyd Roberts, Boyd Roberts, Paul Roberts, 2 daughters Lee Ann Self and Cheri Cartwright, 2 grandsons Joshua and Caleb McAlister.

Troy is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife of over 62 years Mary Lee Roberts of the home in Westville, OK, 2 daughters Mary Ann Stogsdill and husband Christopher of Westville, OK, Troy Lynn McAlister and husband Larry of Prairie Grove, AR. son James Troy Roberts of Fords, NJ, 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several other relatives and many friends also survive him.
