Verble Mills

Mills, Verble Louis, 93, retired from McDonnell Douglas, died Sunday after a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bonnie Mills first wife, Ernestine Patterson Mills sisters, Bernadean Arnett, Bernice Worley, Joy Longshore, Hope Tomando brother, Tom Mills.


Verble is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife, Dahlia Mills of the home in Sapulpa, OK daughters, Shirley Penick and husband Ray, Verlene Deschaine and husband Steve, all of Tulsa, OK stepson, Carl Boone of Claremore, OK grandchildren, Lisa McCune and husband Scott of Flower Mound, TX, Mark Penick and wife Starrla of Wichita, KS, Kristie Leon of Claremore, OK great grandchildren, Noah McCune of Flower Mound, TX, Jaxton Penick of Wichita, KS, Camila Leon of Claremore, OK brothers, Denver Ray Mills of Albuquerque, NM, Bobby Gene Mills of Jenks, OK, Coy Day Mills of Midwest City, OK, and many other relatives and friends.


Verble loved gardening, eating good homecooked meals, bluegrass music, and could fix anything. He was happiest when playing music with his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved seeing them when they came to visit. He was a member of the Westside Freewill Baptist Church, Sapulpa, OK. Verble will be missed by all.


Services were held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at RobertsReedCulver Funeral Chapel, Stilwell, OK.
