Viola Jean Grimmett, daughter of George and Kelly Teehee Washington, was born on March 7, 1941 in Gore, Oklahoma and departed this life on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 14 days. Viola loved working as a cook at Dahlonegah School. She will be remembered fondly by the many children she served. She liked sewing, reading, dancing and listening to country music. Viola enjoyed spending time with her family. She was baptized at Beaver Church and attended while her health permitted. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: George Grimmett, parents: George and Kelly Washington, son: Robert Grimmett, sister: Flora Birdtail and grandson: Curtis Bilby. Those remaining to keep her memory are her children: Carolyn Blackfox Bilby of Tahlequah, Kenneth Blackfox and wife Debbie of Locust Grove, Mary Gourd of the home, Rufus Grimmett, Jr., George Grimmett, Jr. and wife Charlotte, Brian Grimmett and wife Wanda, Jeremy Grimmett and wife Candace, Becky Grimmett Bearpaw, all of Stilwell, 27 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brother: Charlie Washington and wife Ova of Verdigris, sisters: Onnie Treasure and husband Dave of Locust Grove, Dora Smith of Muskogee. Viola is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at 11 am on Friday, January 25, 2013 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Bro. Wayne Pinkerton officiating. Interment followed at Greenleaf Cemetery.
