Wallace Rutherford

Wallace Preston Rutherford, son of Wilburn Emerson and Pearl Magdalene (Cowan) Rutherford, was born on February 16, 1927 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Thursday, December 29, 2016 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 89 years.

He learned many trades and worked hard to provide for his family. Several of the jobs that he worked were maintenance at Stilwell Memorial Hospital, Douglas Aircraft, Cook at the KCS, Bus Driver, Factory Work and at a Lumberyard.

In his spare time, Wallace enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He loved his family and spending time with them whenever possible. Wallace will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Ona Jean Rutherford, siblings: Walter Rutherford, Paul Rutherford, Clealus Holt, Charlotte Eubanks, Wilburn Rutherford and stepdaughter: Janie Fletcher.

Those remaining behind to cherish his memory, include his children: Preston Rutherford and wife Tricia of Post Falls, ID, Sam Rutherford and wife Karen of Hot Springs, AR, Virginia Rutherford of Seattle, WA, Karen Smith of Rogers, AR, Kayla Way and husband Frankie of Oakridge, TN, James Rutherford and wife Monica of Seattle, WA, 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sister: Thelma Harper of Stilwell, OK, special nephew: Paul David Rutherford and wife Crystal of Broken Arrow, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
