Waylan Hopkins

Waylan James Hopkins, son of Millard Jewel and Virginia Rogers Hopkins, was born on December 25, 1971 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 37 years, 9 months and 1 day. He was a lifelong resident of Stilwell. Waylan enjoyed driving. He loved the time he spent with his family and friends. Waylan was also fascinated by reptiles and had several as pets. He was a graduate of Stilwell High School. Waylan was preceded in death by his mother: Virginia Hopkins, best friend: Kelly Long Sr., cousins: Shawn Ritter, Jean Rogers and uncle: Doyle Rogers. Waylan is survived by his wife: Sharon Hopkins of the home in Stilwell, OK, children: David Newman and wife Nicholl of the home, Nita Hopkins of the home, brothers: Glenn Hopkins and wife Marilyn of Stilwell, Lenny Hopkins and wife Molly of Stilwell, sister: Deloris Riddle and husband Robert of Susanville, California, godchildren: Misty Long Robertson, Kelly Long, Jr., Warren Long, Little Will Roberson, several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Honey Hill Cemetery, Stilwell, Oklahoma with Bro. Ted Lawson officiating. Interment under the direction of RobertsReed-Culver Funeral Home.
