Wesley Bradford, son of Thomas Jefferson and Nellie Valentine (Thornton) Bradford, was born on August 29, 1935 in Proctor, Oklahoma and passed from this life peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at 84 years of age.
He grew up in Proctor and graduated from Stilwell High School in 1953. Upon graduation, Wesley married Pansy Clemons and joined the U.S. Army in 1954. Together they raised a family and saw the world during his military years. Wesley was a Vietnam Veteran, who retired from the Army as a Sergeant Major after 28 years.
After his retirement, they moved the family to Cookson, OK, which lead to a career in sales from which he retired in 1995 to enjoy lake life with his family and friends.
Wesley loved fishing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Nellie Bradford, and 14 siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Pansy Bradford, of the home in Cookson, OK, his children: Tom Bradford and wife Kim of Cookson, Patty Warner and husband Bruce of Oil City, LA, Wes Bradford and wife Debbie of Choctaw, OK, Robert Bradford of Cookson, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services to be held at 1 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Cookson-Proctor Cemetery, Cookson, OK with Pastor David Roberts of Hillcrest Pentecostal officiating. Interment to follow under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
