Winford Maggard

Winford Ray Maggard was born on February 13, 1948 to Ed and Eva Mae Maggard in Westville, OK. He went to his heavenly home at the age of 75 on July 1st, 2023 in Westville, OK.

Winford married the love of his life, Janice, on July 31st, 1970 in Westville, OK. They were married for 52 years!

He loved his wife, kids, and grandkids. He was so proud of his kids, an extra proud of his grandkids. In his younger days, he enjoyed trail riding and team roping. You can bet he always had a horse or two in his pasture. In retirement years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Janice and they had many wonderful adventures together. Winford was a veteran and then retired from Franklin Electric. He loved his church family and was active in the Old Country Baptist Bible study group. Winford found joy in poking fun and cracking jokes with those around him. Known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, he had an uncanny ability to brighten any room he entered. He had a special gift for finding humor in the everyday moments of life and was always ready with a funny remark to brighten someone's day.

Winford is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Eva Mae Maggard and two sisters, Phyllis Page and Sharon McMurtrey

Winford leaves behind a loving family including his wife Janice Maggard of the home, daughter Jana Unger and husband Lance of Westville, OK, and son Lee Maggard and wife Kristy of Westville, OK. Seven grandchildren including Jax Unger, Alex Unger, Chance Unger, Jordan Goforth and husband Matt, Lexy Maggard and fiance Tyler Winton, Pacee Maggard, Langston Maggard, and a host of nieces and nephews.
