Zachary Adair

June 28, 1980 — April 26, 2019

Zachary Don Adair known to many as "Blak" was born on June 28, 1980, to Donald Adair and Linda Nofire Adair and passed from this life on April 26, 2019 at the age of 38 years, 9 months and 28 days.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kerry Adair, grandfathers, John B. Adair, Pumpkin Drywater and J.B. Bird, aunt, Mary Duvall and uncle, Mack Vann.

He graduated from Cave Springs High School and later earned a Bachelors Degree from Northeastern State University. Zach was very rich in his culture and was proud to share his knowledge as he worked for the Cherokee Nation as a caretaker at Sequoyah's Cabin. He had also worked as a Cherokee Fire Dancer, provided tours and other duties for the Heritage Center in Tahlequah. He enjoyed, fishing, coon hunting, deer hunting, coaching and picking on Audrey. He was a jokester who could make anyone laugh and smile but was most proud of his accomplishment of being a Dad.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Adair and two children, Steeler and Kaelyn, all of the home; a daughter, Trinity Adair, and a son, King Adair, both of Lincoln, AR., parents, Donald and Joanne Adair of Tahlequah and Linda "Lynn" and Edwin McCulley of Sallisaw; siblings; Michelle "Missy" Adair of Park Hill, Ryan Adair of Sallisaw, Stone Girty and wife Jennifer of Vian, Chad Adair of Tahlequah, his grandmothers; Akie Gourd and Katie Adair of Tahlequah, nieces and nephews; Hope, Darian and Kristen Adair, Destin and Angel Adair, River and Eagle Adair, Ethan, Elijah, Elliott, Eden, Ean and Em Girty, Jerriah Ketcher, Kobe Doublehead, Jerrika Bunch and Jerrae Sanders. Aunt Brenda Daniels and uncles, Elvin "Bossie" Drywater, Phillip "Bodie" Drywater and Johnny Adair, all of Tahlequah, and many additional aunts and uncles, several in laws, other relatives, and many many friends and "Pals" also survive him. Zach has an adopted family in Canada who include his brother, David "Weege" Oakes, Katsianoron "Nolo" Thompson, Erin Barnes and a host of many other people from the Mohawk reservation who knew and loved him.
