Zachary Self

Zachary Ryan Hart Self was born May 20, 1984, in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on March 30, 2023, in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of thirty-eight.

Zach was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, and most importantly Zach was a friend. Zach enjoyed spending time with his wife and kids, being active in the community, watching OU football, and of course being a coach.

He came to know the Lord at a young age and church was a big part of his life. He became a youth minister and was a big part of many different youth groups both in Westville and Stilwell.

The youth were always important to Zach, whether that was his church kids or his school kids.

Zach started school at Maryetta and went on to Westville where he graduated in 2003. After high school he went to NEO for sports training and was continuing his education at NSU.

While in school he was active in his school community and athletics. He was even student of the month on more than one occasion, and he was so proud.

Zach is preceded in death by his grandparents: Louise and Wilbur Hart, Betty and Howard Self, and Lorena Bunch; his uncle: Russel Hart; and precious cousins: Rodney Hart and Mendi Eagleton.

Zach is survived by his loving wife: Sarah; his four beautiful children: Gabriela Faith, Keaton Alex, Kylee Lorena, and Gemma Ryan. His wonderful parents: Darrel and Sue Ella Self; and his favorite sister: Khloe and husband Brian Johnson; and his future niece who he was so excited to meet. His mother and father-in-law: Pam and Jim Carson; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.

Zach was a big guy, but his heart, smile, and presence were even bigger. He will always be remembered for the love and encouragement he gave to everyone around him.
