Billy Pack

May 10, 1957 — March 5, 2023

Stilwell

Billy Joe Pack (known affectionately as BJ, Cutter, Grandpa, Papa BJ and Dad), was born on May 10, 1957 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Bill and Mary (Davis) Pack.

He weighed 3 lbs 10 oz when he was born.  He was never a big man in size, but his heart was so big that it made him a big man in the eyes of all who knew and loved him.   If he cared about you, he would do anything for you, but if he got mad, he might not want anything to do with you again.  He was so funny and he wouldn’t be trying to be, he was trying to be serious.

Billy had 12 siblings.  They all preceded him in death, with the exception of one sister and two brothers.

If you knew BJ, you were very blessed and if you spent any time around him you would end up talking about coon hunting.  He lived and breathed it.  His dog got loose a while back and he was real excited, because he got to go get him.  His dog had treed.  We called his granddaughter, Tash and her husband David, to go with him.  When they got back, he was tired and they said that he had to rest a few times.  They were all hot, sweaty and our of breath from the hike. They said that he really did well for an old man.  That was a couple months ago and was the last time that he got to go hunting.

He got up every morning and did his chores, except for the last couple of days before he got so bad that he just couldn’t do it anymore.  He told Tash and I that he was getting tired and was ready to go. BJ said “bury me beside you, Bec and put (Joe) my coon dog in the casket with me.”  His dog is still alive, but when he is gone, he will be cremated and spread on BJ’s grave.

His favorite things were to listen to Jerry Clower and coon hunting stories.

He would not want us to be sad. He rededicated his life a few months before his passing. He would want us to laugh and be happy, because he was ready to be with the Lord.

BJ loved his daughter Misty and granddaughter Kodi so very much.  They might not have been blood, but you better not tell him that they weren’t his.  There are so many stories we could tell about every one of his grandkids; Kolt, Tasha Nichols, Maya, Robert, Shyla, Joshua Soap, Trevor and Haskell River, his great grandkids would make his eyes light up; Rosin, Lil Bit (Bryndle Sky), Hazzee, Drake and Little GMan (Gerald). Sister Oleeta Stayathome and husband John, Brothers Terry Pack and Jerry Pack. He is already missed so much by all of us.
