Clara Kimble

February 3, 1943 — January 16, 2023

Bunch, OK

Clara Mae Kimble was born February 3rd, 1943 to Snow Gonzales and Mary Chuculate Gonzales. She departed this life on January 16th, 2023 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Clara was married on May 16,1961 to Rainwater Kimble. They had 61 wonderful years of married bliss and the absolute best friendship.

Clara was an educator throughout her life. She started in the education system by becoming a teacher’s aide at Greasy School. She went on to receive her Bachelors of Education Degree from NSU.

She began her teaching career at Cave Springs School in Stilwell, Ok, as a remedial Reading Specialist. Working with kids in and out of the classroom is where Clara’s passion was a shining light. Her love for the classroom didn’t go unnoticed by faculty and students alike as she was named Teacher of the year during her time spent at Cave Springs.

Clara loved Cave Springs school so much that this is where she would later retire from. Being retired would later bring Clara back to the classroom serving as a grandparent at her home away from home, Cave Springs School.

Clara’s other beloved hobbies include cooking, visiting with family and friends, and raising/growing flowers. If you were looking for Clara she could always be found either in the kitchen cooking a big Southern meal or outside tending to her many plants and flowers. She was a natural born giver which included always making sure everyone was happy, fed, and comfortable while in her presence.

Her love for her children and grandchildren was nothing short of abundant. The grand children loved spending weekends with Clara where they were waited on hand and foot. She would always be  up in the middle of the night making sure their blankets were perfectly tucked in around them. Sunrise was always met with early morning sounds of Clara in the kitchen cooking up a hearty breakfast for her grandbabies to wake up to.

On the grandchildren’s birthdays Clara would ask them what they would like. She was always met with the same requested meal menu; homemade biscuits, fried potatoes, gravy, brown beans, and her incredible pork chops, this meal was far better than any purchased gift.

To say Clara will be greatly missed is an understatement. She will always be remembered as a true family woman who had a knack for always leaving things better than she found them.
