Earl Walker

December 12, 1945 — February 18, 2023

Stilwell

Earl Clifton Walker Sr., (Clif) was born December 12, 1945, in Salina, OK to Robert Huey Walker and Blanche Elizabeth (Barrett) Walker and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ February 18, 2023, at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 6 days. Clif had rededicated his life to God and attended the Guiding Light Church.

Clif was married to his lifelong love, Ruby Lee Keith, on February 17, 1964, in Oklahoma City and they were blessed with 59 years of marriage. To this union were born five children: Earl Clifton Walker Jr., Rosa Lee Killer (Walker), Melissa Kay Neale (Walker), Elizabeth Ann Wilhite (Walker), and Jason Wayne Walker.

Clif was preceded in death by his parents, brothers (infant) James Walker, Robert (Bob) Huey Walker Jr., and Stanley Horace Walker, sisters Thelma Cordelia Duggan, (Pat) Laverne Sprecher, and (Winnie) Clara Winnette Douglas.

Early in his life, Clif’s family moved to Northeastern Oklahoma. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed basic training at Fort Polk, LA. While there, Clif become a marksman and then received his honorable discharge from service in 1970.

Upon completing basic training, Clif moved back to Oklahoma, eventually making their home in Stilwell for most of their 59 years of marriage. Throughout his working career, Clif worked as a welder, a stone mason, and restored and sold automobiles. For most of his working years, Clif was an over the road truck driver. He drove for several companies, beginning with Stilwell Foods and ending his 30-year truck driving career at Walmart. His CB radio handle was “Streakin Deacon”, and it was not unusual for someone to ask, “How’s ole Deacon doing?” when referring to Clif. After retiring from truck driving, Clif took up hobbies at home. He became an avid gardener and loved to pick the guitar. He was always ready to learn how to hone his skills and learn something new. His greatest joys in life were his relationship with God and his family.

Cliff is survived by a loving family including his wife, Ruby, of the home in Stilwell, sons Earl Clifton Walker Jr. and wife, Sherrie, of Siloam Springs, AR, and Jason Walker and wife, Brandy, of Neosho, MO, daughters Rosa Killer and husband, John,  of Stilwell, Melissa Neale and husband, Charles, of Stilwell, and Elizabeth Wilhite and husband, Jim,  of Westville, grandchildren Misty Thomas, Stephanie and John Eric Liles, Michael and Jordan Workman, Joshua and Tiffany Killer, Brittany and Aaron Webster, Lynsey Gass, Rebekah Walker, Makayla Robertson, and Taylor Walker, great-grandchildren Natalie Thomas, Maggie, Penelope, and Zakkary Liles, Jameson and Murphy Workman, brothers Grady Leon (Bo) Walker, Mark Jimmy (Jim) Walker, and sister Roberta (Teenie) Reser, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
