Eugene Ray Vann born July 27, 1948 to Dutch and Edith (Sawney) Vann passed from this life to his forever home on May 19, 2021 at his home in Cheery Tree.
He was preceded in death by both parents: Dutch and Edith Vann and one brother: David Vann.
Eugene spent many years as a pitcher for the Cherry Tree Warriors, he was one of the best pitchers around.
He led a simple life, he loved to watch Oklahoma Sooners football, hunting and fishing, going on trips with his great friends Levi Campbell (Tallyho), Woodrow Proctor, and Maxie Flynn. He was also an avid gardener.
He spent a lot of time with his sister Brenda (Boo) eating breakfast and spending time with her grandchildren.
He loved his family, and they knew it even though he never expressed it.
He called all his nieces and nephews: girl and boy. He could not remember names.
The most amazing thing about his life was that he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior on May 13, 2021.
Eugene leaves behind four sisters: Dora Mae Watie, Reba Vann, Betty Sue Scott, Brenda Vann all of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Two brothers: Ronnie Vann and wife Marta from Welling, Oklahoma, and Sammie (Snow) Vann and wife Mae of the home. 14 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews, and 7 great-great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 1 pm on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Chulio Cemetery, Stilwell, OK with David Mink and Farris Vann officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
