Stilwell

Inola Grimmett, daughter of Alex and Puna (Duncan) Soap, was born on June 2, 1940 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones at 79 years of age.

She attended Bell and Maryetta Schools until the 8th grade.  Her first job was working for Peterson Farms in Decatur, Arkansas, where she stayed for a number of years.  After leaving there, she went to work for Stilwell Foods during the 70’s.  In the early 90’s, Inola started working as a childcare provider for Cherokee Nation.  She retired in 2005.

Inola loved gardening, sewing, working puzzles and hunting for wild onions.  She also loved planting flowers and would talk to them, helping them grow.

She loved to “cruze” and would ask Roy every Saturday to go to the flea market.  She looked forward to the many trips she took to Branson and enjoyed window shopping.

Inola loved to sing Cherokee Gospel songs and was fluent in Cherokee.  She looked forward to having her picture taken and wanted her hair “just right”.  She enjoyed watching OKC Thunder Games, was an OU fan and a major fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.  Inola always looked forward to feeding the ducks at the park and did so, until her health declined.

She married Roy Grimmett on October 19, 1977 in Stilwell and they were blessed with many years and a big family.  She loved her family very much.  She was always there for them in any circumstance.  Inola was very precious to all of her family.  She is and will be missed greatly.

Inola read her Bible daily and was a member of Sequoyah Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Alex and Puna Soap, son: Frank Soap, granddaughter: Kylee Grimmett, great granddaughter: Yalia Grimmett, great grandson: Axl Grimmett, son-in-law: Albert Springwater, sisters: Genora Cochran, Irene Wolfe, Lucille McQuistion, Martha Squirrel, Lula Teehee, brothers: Levi Soap, Nelson Soap, Harry Soap and Bobby Soap.
