Norma Steeley

Norma Jean (Pettit) Steeley known to her siblings as “Minnie” was born on February 27, 1954, to Wilson and Nellie (Owl) Pettit and went to her Heavenly home on May 18, 2022.

Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed hosting dinners for her family and friends and enjoyed her role as a grandmother and wife. Before her retirement she enjoyed her duties as a CNA at Stilwell and Sallisaw Nursing Homes where she worked for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters-in-law: Edna Duncan, and Betty Steeley; 2 infant granddaughters; and 1 son: Marilyn Wayne Flute.

Norma is survived by her loving husband: Johnny Steeley of the home in Marble City; her children: Jennifer and Honest Locust of Marble City, and Makisha Flute of Stilwell; 4 brothers: Wilson Pettit, Jr. and wife Vickie of Rocky Point, David Pettit of Bunch, Baxter Pettit of Stilwell, and Donald Pettit of Marble City; 2 sisters: Stella Daugherty and husband Carlos of Stilwell, and LaDonna Pettit of Bunch; 2 very special cousins: Sue Ann Smith and Janice Proctor who were more like sisters; sister-in-law: Clara Steeley; 19 grandchildren; and numerous family and friends also survive her.
